It’s not just a case of how much waste you have! You also need to consider how much room you have on your site and will then need to think about the type of waste you will be disposing of. For example if the waste is heavy (e.g. soil/brick/rubble) then you will be restricted as to how large a skip you can have.

If a driver arrives on site to find an overloaded skip they are likely to turn away and leave without the skip, thus potentially incurring additional transport charges.
Though we try to be as flexible with hire periods as possible, as a general rule the maximum hire period is 7 days.
Of course should your site be an ongoing one where numerous skips are required and exchanged on a regular basis then there is nothing to worry about. If however, you require a skip that is likely to be needed for more than 7 days without exchanges, we request you inform us at the time of ordering as a rental charge may be applicable.
Yes. Though any skip that needs to be sited on a public highway, pavement or council owned verge, first requires permission from the local authority responsible.
Though the charges involved and the length of time it takes an application to be processed varies from council to council, in the vast majority of cases we can arrange the required permit on your behalf. Depending on the local authority in question, application periods can be anything from ‘same day’ to 4 weeks, so when you know that a permit is likely to be required on an upcoming site it is vital that you give us as much notice as possible to avoid any unnecessary delays.
Please also note that as the hirer, the lighting and coning of the skip whilst it is placed on public land is your responsibility, though we are usually able to arrange for the hire of these items on your behalf too.
A standard skip or roll-on-off vehicle usually requires a minimum of 10ft (3.3m) width and approximately 13ft (4m) headroom to safely gain access to a site. If your site access falls a little below these requirements we are able to (in most areas) arrange for smaller skips (depending on waste type) to be delivered on smaller lorries.

Kirriemuir is a town in Angus, sitting at the foot of the Angus glens around five miles north-west of Forfar, with a population of around 6,000. Known locally as Kirrie, it is built of red sandstone on a slope above the Gairie Burn, with narrow winding streets and closes around a central square. The town grew as a weaving centre — at its height in the nineteenth century thousands of handloom weavers worked in Kirriemuir producing linen and jute, and the town was one of the most important weaving communities in Angus.
Kirriemuir's fame rests on J.M. Barrie, born here in 1860 in a modest weaver's cottage at 9 Brechin Road, the ninth child of a handloom weaver. The wash-house behind the cottage served as his first theatre, and Barrie later said it was the model for the Darling children's house in Peter Pan. The cottage is now a National Trust for Scotland museum. Barrie fictionalised the town as Thrums in A Window in Thrums and Auld Licht Idylls, and he gave Kirriemuir its camera obscura on Kirrie Hill, housed in a cricket pavilion he presented to the town — one of only three working camera obscuras in Scotland. Barrie is buried in the town cemetery.
The town's other celebrated son is Bon Scott, the AC/DC frontman, born in Kirriemuir in 1946 before his family emigrated to Australia when he was six. A bronze statue of Scott was unveiled in the town square in 2016, and the annual Bonfest music festival draws AC/DC fans from around the world — an improbable pairing with Peter Pan that the town has embraced with some humour.
Kirriemuir sits at the gateway to Glen Clova, Glen Prosen and Glen Isla, the Angus glens running north into the Cairngorms National Park, and serves as a base for walkers and climbers. The surrounding Strathmore farmland is rich soft fruit country, and Angus is a major producer of raspberries and strawberries.
The town sits on the A926 and A928, with Dundee around half an hour south and Aberdeen an hour and a half north. Kirriemuir lost its railway in 1965; Dundee is the nearest station. Housing is largely traditional, with red sandstone Georgian and Victorian property and weavers' cottages around the Square and the closes — much of the centre a conservation area, heavily listed — alongside interwar and post-war council estates and modern development on the edges.
